Website terms & conditions
The terms for browsing this website, using its content and starting a conversation about a project.
Last reviewed:
1. Who we are & these terms
East Anglia Webworks is the trading name of a sole trader based in Norfolk, England. “We”, “us” and “our” refer to that business. Contact the business at [email protected].
These terms describe the permitted use of this website. Our privacy notice explains personal information, and our cookies and traffic notice explains browser technologies and technical requests. No purchase, subscription or payment can be made through this website.
2. Enquiries & project agreements
Browsing, choosing a concept or preparing an enquiry does not place an order or commit you to paid work. Saving a brief creates a file on your own device; it does not send an enquiry to us.
Before a project is commissioned, we will provide a proposal and applicable service terms covering scope, deliverables, fees and any applicable tax, payment stages, timings, revisions, responsibilities, cancellation, handover and ongoing services. Work begins following the agreed acceptance process. Changes to a project’s scope or charges need to be agreed.
Website ownership, source files, licences and permitted portfolio use must be covered by the project agreement. A reference to “your website” does not automatically transfer all intellectual property rights. Domains, hosting, mailboxes, maintenance, backups and response arrangements are governed by their agreed service terms and relevant provider terms.
Our services are aimed at business projects. If you contract as a consumer, your statutory rights remain protected. Where the Consumer Contracts Regulations apply to a distance or off-premises service contract, a 14-day cancellation period normally applies from the day after the contract is made. Any request to start work early, proportionate payment for work supplied, or loss of the right on full performance must meet the applicable legal conditions and be explained before acceptance.
3. Copyright, branding & licences
Where intellectual property rights exist, the website’s text, design, software, illustrations and branding belong to East Anglia Webworks or their respective rights holders. The Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 and other applicable intellectual property laws protect qualifying material. Third party logos and names remain the property of their owners.
You may view the site and keep or print reasonable extracts to evaluate our services or discuss a potential project internally. Keep relevant credits and notices intact. This permission does not authorise republishing our portfolio as your own, selling its assets, copying a client’s branding or reusing protected material in another commercial website.
Ask for permission before using protected material outside that permission unless the law or an applicable licence already allows your use. Legal exceptions to copyright are unaffected. Photographs, open source software and other licensed materials retain their own licence terms; a licence allowing reuse takes precedence over the restrictions above for that material. See our image credits for the photography licences and attribution.
If you believe material infringes your rights, email [email protected]. Identify the material, where it appears and your basis for the concern.
4. Portfolio examples
Examples labelled “Design Concept” are illustrative directions for fictional businesses. They are not endorsements, commissioned client projects or promises of particular business results. Suggested pages and features are ideas for a future project.
The East Coast Facilities Management case study is an approved screenshot showcase of a real, private client website. Its inclusion does not grant access to that website or permission to reuse its content. Rights in client branding and other project materials remain with their respective owners.
5. Using this website responsibly
Use the website lawfully and respect other people’s privacy and intellectual property. Do not submit unlawful or infringing material, impersonate someone, send spam, introduce malicious code, disrupt the service or attempt unauthorised access. Do not bypass security controls or carry out intrusive security testing without permission.
You may link to publicly accessible pages in a fair way that does not imply our endorsement or misrepresent your relationship with us. Do not frame or reproduce protected content in a way that infringes our rights or another person’s rights.
Only provide information you are entitled to share. An enquiry gives us permission to use its contents to consider and respond to it; it does not transfer ownership of your material or authorise its use in advertising. Avoid sending passwords, payment card information or unnecessary sensitive personal information.
6. Links & third party services
External links provide context, credits or further information. The destination’s operator controls its content and privacy practices. An external link does not itself indicate an endorsement. Review that website’s terms before using its services.
The enquiry security checks and email service are described in the privacy notice. Sending a form submits its contents to the website’s mail system. Browsing the portfolio does not subscribe you to any third party service.
7. Information & availability
We aim to keep information clear and accurate. Services and features may change, so confirm the scope, availability and current terms in your project proposal. Search rankings, traffic, sales and enquiry volumes depend on factors beyond the website’s design; specific results are not guaranteed.
Access may be interrupted for maintenance, technical problems or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. No promise of continuous availability or complete freedom from technical faults is made for this browsing website. Any service commitments for commissioned work will be set out in its agreement.
8. Responsibility & your legal rights
Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
These terms do not remove mandatory consumer protections, rights relating to services performed with reasonable care and skill, or remedies available under applicable law. Responsibility for a commissioned project is addressed in its service agreement, subject to those protections.
9. Law, complaints & updates
These website terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Business disputes relating to them are subject to the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, any mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings in the courts of your usual UK place of residence are preserved.
Raise a website or service concern by emailing [email protected]. For personal information concerns, read the privacy complaints procedure.
We may update these website terms when the website, relevant law or our arrangements change. The reviewed date identifies this version. Updates do not retrospectively change an existing project agreement without the agreement or legal basis required.
